Plan Description

This modern house is designed in structural wood, uses certified eco-friendly materials that allow healthy internal micro-climatic conditions. Its architecture is energy-saving: with the correct orientation on the construction lot, the house allows solar gain during winter, whilst shielding the excessive heat in summer, also due to the presence of the front porch. The large glass 'solar control' wall panels, provide excellent insulating, self-cleaning and safety characteristics. The side-walls form a continuous sheathing with the cover, to give the house greater thermal and acoustic insulation. The interiors, which have a full-height development, are open-space with kitchen, living and dining. The sleeping area is a separate private location. The house can be equipped with renewable energy systems such as solar thermal, photovoltaic and mini-wind turbines. The attention paid in the preliminary design stage is on the use of materials, the shape and orientation of the house which assures an optimum quality for money ratio both in its maintenance and energy-management.
