The design for this charming Tudor-style home employs a repetitive theme of curved shapes throughout the landscape. Beginning with the circular driveway, the theme can be seen in the rounded outlines of the lawn areas before and on each side of the driveway, and in the curved edges of the front walk and bordering beds. These lines sweep across the design, playing up the horizontal lines of the one-story house. The front walk, which branches toward the garage, is bordered by low-growing shrubs and flowering perennials and made even more intimate by decorative trees. This area offers a special welcome because it is intensely populated with plants that provide color throughout the year. The highlight of this garden is the ornamental tree, which is visible from the breakfast nook. It ties together the irregularly patterned paving leading to both segments of the driveway and camouflages the blank garage wall. Drifts of flowering perennials located throughout the landscape provide friendly bursts of color during summer and well into fall. Fall too brings a stunning display of autumn foliage. If for some reason a circular driveway would be undesirable, this plan is easily adapted without compromising any of the design elements. The circular part of the driveway can be eliminated and turned into a parking spur that ends in front of the entrance. The circular border to the left of the property can be merged into the front border to complete the curve, and lawn can fill in the rest of the area to create a picture-perfect design.
