With three levels totaling over 650 square feet and an elongated shape, this deck is well-suited for simultaneous activities without disturbing the participating parties. Because the deck areas are linked and easy to reach, it is also excellent for large gatherings. Stairways are not required to go from one level to the next the deck is thoughtfully designed so that each level has a change in elevation equal to a step. The result is a deck composed of three separate areas, made even more distinctive by contrasting surface patterns for each area. The geometric angles of the deck's perimeter add interest and provide the opportunity for some unique features, such as the large, three-sided bench that wraps around one extended deck section. With the garage access next to the covered porch, transportation of furniture to and from the deck is made simple. In addition to the expansive bench seating, a moveable grill is installed near the kitchen door for barbecues. The grill can also be built as a wet bar. Planters add a finishing touch. Access to the ground level is via two exits: one near the kitchen, the other outside the covered porch.
