A delightful, deck-level garden area, a private space off the master bedroom, and a unique treatment of movable planters combined with ground exits are just a few of the highlights. The deck wraps around most of the rear of this home and encompasses over 850 square feet. The largest portion is accessed from the gathering room and dining room via three sets of sliding doors. There's plenty of space for table and chairs just outside the dining room. The deck sits on the ground level, so steps are not required to reach the backyard. Built-in planters are set at right angles to the two ground exits, giving the deck's perimeter an interesting jagged shape. The garden area is an open space in the deck; the garden is planted directly in the ground just below. This is a simple design, but highly effective; the garden can be viewed from the gathering room, and watering and planting are performed from the deck. Benches surround the garden area, providing seating and safety. Tucked around the corner, a small, intimate area adjoins the master bedroom. An exit to the ground is provided here as well.
